Something has to change for everything to stay as it is. Something had to change for everything to stay as it was.

Parker Branch no.20, London, April 2012.

The project Something - comprised of a performance, an installation (a quilt, a photograph and a book) and a publication - stems from the curious anecdote from Margaret Trudeau's autobiography Beyond Reason. In her book, she recounts how she allegedly defaced Joyce Wieland's artwork, the quilt Reason Over Passion, in a fit of rage during an argument with then prime minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau. The project then proposes to re-imagines this event to question how much more reasonable reason is over passion or asks how can emotions enact insightful understandings of art.
